This guide shows you how to manage private network interfaces for your virtual machines in Server Monkey Cloud VPS. You can view network details, attach networks to virtual machines, and configure private network communication. Private networks allow your VMs to communicate securely with each other within your hosting environment.
Step 1: Access Network Management
Log into your Server Monkey client portal and navigate to your VPS service. Select "Network" from the management sidebar to view and configure network interfaces.

Step 2: View Network Interface List
The network interface displays all configured private network devices for your VPS. Each interface shows device details, status, and available management actions.

Step 3: View Network Information
Click the "Information" button next to any network interface to view detailed configuration. A popup window displays comprehensive network details including IP settings and device parameters.

Step 4: Attach Additional Networks
Click "Attach Network" to connect your VPS to additional private networks. This enables communication between multiple virtual machines on shared network segments.

Step 5: Select Virtual Machines
Choose which virtual machines should be connected to the selected network. Optionally enable "Restart VM" if hotplug functionality is not configured on your system.

Step 6: Remove Network Interfaces
Use the "Delete" button to remove unnecessary network interfaces from your VPS. Confirm the removal to disconnect the virtual machine from the selected private network.

Important Configuration Requirements
Network Device Settings:
•Network device options must be set to "Private" for client management access
•Only private network interface devices can be added or removed by clients
•Public network interfaces are managed by Server Monkey administrators
Hotplug Functionality:
•VM restart required if hotplug is not configured
•Check "Restart VM" option when attaching networks to non-hotplug systems
•Hotplug-enabled VMs can attach networks without downtime
Server Monkey Configuration Limits:
•Network creation availability depends on your Server Monkey platform configuration
•Additional network creation may be restricted after initial setup
•Delete functionality may be limited based on system policies
Use Cases & Best Practices
Multi-VM Communication:
•Create private networks to enable secure communication between VMs
•Isolate application tiers (web, database, cache) on separate network segments
•Build redundant network paths for high-availability configurations
Network Segmentation:
•Separate development, staging, and production environments
•Create isolated networks for security-sensitive applications
•Implement network-based access control policies
Warning: Network changes may require VM restart. Plan maintenance windows accordingly to avoid service interruption.
