This tutorial shows you how to create, restore, and schedule backups for your virtual machines in Server Monkey Cloud VPS. Keep your data safe with automated backup solutions.
Step 1: Login and Access Your Service

Login to your Server Monkey account and click "Manage" on your Cloud VPS service. This will take you to the service management panel where you can access backup features.
•Login to your Server Monkey client area
•Find your "VPS & Cloud - LXC Cloud" service
•Click the green "Manage" button (shown with red arrow)
•You'll be redirected to the service management interface
Step 2: Access Backup Section

Navigate to the Backups section to view your backup resources and create new backups. Click "Create Backup" to start making a backup of your virtual machine.
•Click "Backups" in the left sidebar navigation
•View your Available Resources: Backup Size, Backup Files, Protected Files
•Check your current usage against limits
•Click the green "Create Backup" button (top right)
Step 3: Configure Backup Settings

Choose compression type and backup mode for your backup creation. Select appropriate settings based on your needs and click Confirm.
Backup Configuration:
•Compression Type: Choose None, LZO, or GZIP
•LZO: Fast compression with moderate space saving
•GZIP: Better compression but slower
•None: Fastest but largest file size
•Backup Mode: Choose Snapshot, Suspend, or Stop
•Snapshot: VM continues running (recommended)
•Suspend: VM pauses during backup
•Stop: VM shuts down during backup
•Click green "Confirm" button to create backup
Step 4: Restore from Backup

View your created backups and use the Restore button to recover your virtual machine. Each backup shows size, creation date, and protection status for easy management.
Backup Management:
•View all backups with Name, Size, Created date, Protected status
•Restore: Click green "Restore" button to recover VM from backup
•Browse Files: Access individual files within backup
•Download: Download backup file to local computer
•Delete: Remove unwanted backups to free space
•Protect: Mark important backups as protected to prevent deletion
Step 5: Create Backup Schedule

Set up automated backup schedules to regularly backup your virtual machines. Click "Create Backup Schedule" to configure automatic backup timing.
•Click "Backup Schedules" in the left sidebar
•View existing scheduled backups with timing and settings
•Click green "Create Backup Schedule" button (top right)
•Schedules show Start Time, Days, Compression, Mode, Email settings
Step 6: Configure Schedule Settings

Set up detailed schedule parameters including timing, compression, and email notifications. Configure when and how your automated backups should run.
Schedule Configuration:
•Start Time: Set backup time (24-hour format, e.g., 07:05)
•Day of the Week: Select which days to run backups
•Compression Type: Choose LZO, GZIP, or None
•Backup Mode: Select Snapshot, Suspend, or Stop
•Send Email Message: Choose Always, Never, or On Failure
•Recipients: Enter email addresses for notifications (comma-separated)
•Click green "Confirm" to create schedule
